Dr. Mark Magdanz
Anyone who shows up can have fun and learn to dance – that’s 90% of success. Physical disability or lack of desire is the only barrier. Lessons provide you with numerous items for success. Step drills give you basics; dances are chosen to broaden skills; fitness is under experienced observation; alternative steps help to fit physical abilities; verbal step cues are timely. Your learning is supported verbally, visually and with repetition throughout lessons. Rebecca observes for adequate mastering of steps. Importantly, Rebecca has the knowledge to provide cautionary changes to movements to reduce chance of injury. Since Rebecca has both studied and choreographed, changes are made to steps to protect the health/fun for dancers. Thus, professional instruction provides the best experience in mastery of these new skills. If you just show up prepared to move, you can learn to line dance with comfort and joy. Arrive-stay-thrive-enjoy!
Line dancing is about fun and exercise. All classes will start fall sessions the week of October 3. Rebecca has students reserved far into the future, so with sessions starting in October and January of 2017 you can reserve space now. If you can’t make every session due to travels-makeup times are often available. You, too, can dance with your heart and your feet will follow!
Level 1/Beginner Class is just the ticket for entry level and those who desire a somewhat slower dancing pace. A major thing you will learn with Rebecca is that many movements of dance are already in your daily life—just add music. A big hurdle for new dancers is moving their feet quicker; classes are programmed easing transition to faster footwork/better balance. Novice Level 1 series packages are paid in full in advance to reserve your spot. Level 1 sessions are Monday mid-day in HOA 1 and/or Wednesday afternoon at SaddleBrooke Ranch.
Level 2 (Advanced Beginner/Easy Intermediate) is for the dancer who wants a faster learning/instruction pace, more complex steps and a more vigorous workout. Classes are Monday afternoons at the HOA 2 aerobics room and Tuesday mornings at HOA 1 and/or Wednesday at SaddleBrooke Ranch.
Level 3 Intermediate is the most challenging class with lots of more complex dances and a vigorous workout. These lessons require significant line dance experience and stamina so students generally promote themselves after previous lessons. Classes are Thursdays in the early afternoon at HOA 2.
Optional practice sessions for Rebecca’s dancers are Thursdays for Level 1 and Saturdays for Levels 2 and 3.
