Nancy Hysong and Mary (Twink) Gates
The Catalina Timewalkers chapter of The Questers met on Tuesday, March 17, at the Florence Historical Museum with Nancy Hysong and Ida Androwich hosting. Nine members and one guest were in attendance.
Are you in your favorite chair? Why sit home when you can join the Catalina Time Walkers—your local chapter of The Questers.
We recently visited the Pinal County Historical Museum in Florence. A very interesting, delightful and knowledgeable docent led us through the early history and early prison system.
One of the highlights was an 1884 Decker Brother’s square grand piano which had been shipped around Cape Horn to California and overland to Florence. Our very talented musical nightingale had the privilege of playing it while we all sang patriotic songs in celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary. Now that beats sitting home.
Have you ever seen a set of playing cards made from deer skin as you sit in your chair? Questers did. Join us for the rest of the story.
The Questers are into preservation and restoration. When we are not out helping local historical sites, we meet in each other’s homes monthly and share information on antiques and collections. It’s amazing what we learn from our fellow members.
Everyone sitting in that chair has something to share or something to learn. Come join us and help keep our heritage alive and strong.
The next meeting of Questers Catalina Timewalkers Chapter Number #1389 will be April 21; a field trip to the 22nd Street Antique Mall, located at 5302 East 22nd Street in Tucson. Michelle Wiklund will be hosting.
