The Gardeners Exchange of SaddleBrooke Ranch welcomes John Durham, native plant rescue team member for Tucson Cactus and Succulent Society, to speak on Wednesday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. at La Hacienda Club, La Mesa Room.
John is a board member of the Tucson Cactus and Succulent Society and both John and his wife Susan are active members of the TCSS Rescue Program that partners with Pima County developers, corporations and private landowners to save native cacti and plants from being destroyed. John works for SWCA, an environmental consultation firm in Tucson that has been instrumental in the understanding and recovery of endangered plants and animals in Arizona.
Here to share his experience in the field during both pursuits, John will describe the plants, places and animals that make the Sonoran Desert a unique environment.
The Gardeners Exchange is dedicated to providing horticultural information for desert gardeners. Bring your questions, bring your answers, bring your garden challenges, bring your excess plants to share. All are welcome. Open seating. No registration required.
