On Saturday, March 18, 2017, the Pool Players of The Brooke Travel Team drove the 85 miles up to Sun Lakes, Arizona to play against the IronOaks Breakers Pool League for possession of a personalized Travel Plaque. Our teams consisted of: Dominic “The Doctor” Borland and Paul “Bankster” Callas, Fred “The Baker” Dianda and Gary “Bushwhacker” Powers, Randy “Thin Man” Smith and Richard “Loose Rack” Galant, Joe “Fast Eddie” Giammarino and Bruce “Hustler” Fink.
Sun Lakes has a beautiful billiard room with four brand new Olhausen nine-foot pool tables, all with very tight pockets. All our teams played well, but these guys are above good. They proceeded to give us a first class whipping to the tune of 30 to 18. The best record of any of our teams was seven wins and five losses by Bruce Fink and Joe Giammarino. Congratulations to IronOaks and a big thank you to our Travel Team Captain Dominic “The Doctor” Borland for putting this Challenge Match together.
The Pool Players of The Brooke want to thank IronOaks Breakers Pool League for hosting this event. A special thank you to Willie “The Wizard” Foster and David “The Godfather” Mork for being such gracious hosts. You gentlemen are a fun, competitive group of pool players and very talented on the pool table. We hope you find a nice spot on your wall for the traveling plaque; mount it with pride. We also discussed another contest in the future.
A few of us went to Stone and Barrel Restaurant in Sun Lakes for a small lunch before the competition, the Italian sub sandwich was tasty. That is a good day! Rack ‘em up!
