The way to closeout 2015 at the STC was to play a lot of tennis and then go to a party at the MountainView Clubhouse.
John Sochacki spearheaded the tennis event although Debbie McGeehan and Melanie Murphy set up the matches. That was a big job because of the large number of players. Members played mixed doubles utilizing every court at the Tennis Center and at MountainView for the two-hour tennis social. Of course, players switched courts after an hour or so in order to meet more players and enjoy more competition that is fun. This is how new friends are made at the STC.
In the typical STC mode of having healthy fun, John, along with his volunteers, setup the tables and chairs and organized the drinks and snacks for the players after the matches. Once again, the STC patio was the venue for the delightful interchange between friends, new and old.
That evening tennis players abandoned their Fila shorts and shirts in favor of tuxedos, suits and casual wear. That’s how to dress as about 50 of us danced to music we like to call Oldies.
For dinner, MVCC came through with a delicious variety of pork and sliced beef flavored with spicy horseradish. STC volunteers supplemented the SaddleBrooke staff that planned and coordinated the party. At the lead was Debbie McGeehan with Cindy Ishikawa Madsen, Benith MacPherson, Claudia Enea, TJ Duffy, Kent Naugle and Bob Stocks.
The STC is dedicated to the health and enjoyment of all SaddleBrooke residents. Tennis is our first step toward good health and our parties are the key to enjoyment. Join us in these healthy good times by calling our friendly coordinators at the Tennis Center.
