St. Patrick’s Day Softball Tournament March 16

The annual SaddleBrooke Senior Softball St. Patrick’s Day Tournament is set for Saturday, March 16, at the SaddleBrooke softball field, 61971 E. Oakwood Drive, the finest in Southern Arizona.

The tournament will feature lads and lassies who play in the league’s current winter season. Three games are planned starting at 8:30 a.m.

There won’t be any corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, or Irish soda bread, but free hot dogs, bratwurst, hamburgers, chips, cookies, soda, and water will be served for lunch. As always, donations are appreciated. It will be a fun day for all involved. There will also be music and entertainment and, of course, exciting softball. It will be a good opportunity to socialize with your friends and neighbors, and we look forward to another great turnout from the community.

St. Patrick’s Day is a cultural and religious celebration held on March 17, the traditional death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The day commemorates St. Patrick and celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general. So, get your green on and come join us. You know we have so much action going on in our games, and the best part is no TV commercials. Now how about that for some Blarney?

The tournament is one of four holiday events the SaddleBrooke Senior Softball Association conducts every year. The others are Veterans Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day.

SaddleBrooke Senior Softball is in its 19th season. Games are played Monday through Friday year-round in five different leagues based on players’ skills and abilities. If you are interested in playing, volunteering, or just watching the games, visit saddlebrookesoftball.com to learn more.
