Springtime for SaddleBrooke Paper Crafters

Spring has been a fun and creative season for the members of the SaddleBrooke Paper Crafters Club. In addition to our monthly meeting, Fun Shops, and Card a Box Saturdays, we had a couple of other opportunities to share our card making talents and a few laughs!

On April 3 members of our club celebrated some spring fun with our annual Spring Fling Luncheon. This annual event, held at the MountainView clubhouse, was the brainchild of our president Ann LaPerre. A few years ago, she noticed that many of our members were not in SaddleBrooke during the winter holidays and were not able to attend our annual holiday party. Ann suggested we introduce a Spring Fling Luncheon for all of our members so that they, too, could enjoy a fun gathering before they left SaddleBrooke for the summer. More than 25 members attended this year’s Spring Fling and enjoyed a delicious lunch, door prizes, and laughter, as well as a game suspiciously like Bingo titled STAMP. And those special cupcakes—need I say more? Ann LaPerre and Angela Stokes were instrumental in organizing and hosting this fun event. Thank you, ladies!

Members of the club also shared their creativity and card making talents by donating two baskets filled with handcrafted cards for the Senior Village fundraiser, Beach Bash. More than 120 assorted birthday, thinking of you, and sympathy cards filled two baskets and were auctioned off at this event on April 6.

As we all know, spring will eventually turn to summer, and many of our members will travel away from SaddleBrooke with vacation plans or leave to return to their summer homes. But SaddleBrooke Paper Crafters will continue to meet during the summer and share the fun and creativity. If you are interested in seeing what puts the spring in a Paper Crafters step, please join us at one of our meetings. We meet the second Wednesday of the month at 12:30 p.m. in the SaddleBrooke One Arts and Crafts building, Room #4.

Safe travels to our members, and keep on creating! See you in the fall.
