Spring Grandkids’ Day

Lyn Moreno

The sounds of excited children’s laughter and lots of giggles filled the air on the Saturday morning before Easter. The children were participating in the annual Grandkids’ Day, organized by the SaddleBrooke TWO Fitness, Wellness, and Recreation Committee and hosted by the SaddleBrooke Swim Club and Paper Crafters Club. This year, more than 50 grandchildren of residents and staff participated in the popular event held at the MountainView Bar and Grill.

The children are organized into two groups, with the kindergarteners and preschoolers in one group and the first through third graders in the other. The “littles” searched for eggs in the grass while the older children made Easter cards with lots of glitter, stickers, crayons, and fun. The groups then switched.

The plastic eggs filled with candy and the dollar bills are donated by members of the SaddleBrooke Swim Club who have hosted the event for the past 10 years. The card making supplies were donated by the Paper Crafters Club. Thank you to both of these clubs for their time and effort to make this day special for the families of SaddleBrooke.

If you have young grandchildren who visit during the Easter weekend, don’t miss this fun event next year.
