Spring Fun for SaddleBrooke Paper Crafters

SBPC members who participated in the SaddleBrooke Grandkids’ Day

Marlene D’Ambrosio

Spring brings a busy time for the SaddleBrooke Paper Crafters (SBPC), as there have been several opportunities to attend fun events along with our regular monthly meetings.

In March, Ann LaPerre led a Fun Shop, offering members an opportunity to make three gorgeous cards using three different fun-folds. Our April Fun Shop, coordinated by Barbara Mitchell, was an opportunity for club members to travel to BlueMoon Scrapbooking store in Tucson. During this event, members who attended learned about new products and supplies and were able to purchase paper crafting items. BlueMoon staff also offered members the chance to participate in two different Make-and-Take sessions.

Our annual craft room home tours also returned in the Spring of 2025. This event, coordinated by Marion Stoleson, enabled our members to experience the footprints, designs, colors, and organization techniques used by four fellow SBPC members in their happy places. Roberta Hafvenstein, Gloria Peterson, Lorna Fox, and Kerry Wolf graciously opened their craft rooms for this tour. Marion arranged assigned groups for the tours, and when everyone finished, we all met up at Roberta’s home to enjoy some delicious treats provided by our fellow members. A special thanks to Marion, Roberta, Gloria, Lorna, and Kerry and all the bakers for a fun day!

You know the snowbirds are getting ready to leave SaddleBrooke when the SBPC annual Spring Fling Party arrives. Many of our members are not able to attend our annual holiday party in December, so on April 1 Ann LaPerre arranged this special event. Spring Fling is another chance for members to socialize, enjoy a delicious lunch, and celebrate our club.

In addition, under the leadership of Ann LaPerre, many members of SBPC participated in Grandkids’ Day. They prepared materials which children used to make cards for their parents and grandparents.

Although SBPC meets year-round, summer brings a quieter time for special events. We always look forward to the return of many of our members in the fall, with more opportunities to create, share, learn, and enjoy our fantastic hobby. See you in September, snowbirds!

If you want to find out more about SBPC, feel free to attend one of our meetings during the summer on the second Wednesday of each month in SaddleBrooke One Craft Room 4 at 1 p.m.
