The Friends of SaddleBrooke Libraries are thrilled to announce that our extremely popular Spring Author Luncheon will be on March 13. Joining us is William Kent Krueger, a best-selling author and crime novelist best known for his novels set in the north woods of Minnesota. His protagonist is Cork O’Connor, the former sheriff of Tamarack County and a man of mixed heritage—part Irish and part Ojibwe. Krueger’s work has received a number of awards, including the Minnesota Book Award, the Loft-McKnight Fiction Award, the Anthony Award, the Barry Award, the Dilys Award, and the Friends of American Writers Prize. His last 13 novels were all New York Times bestsellers.

Ordinary Grace, his stand-alone novel published in 2013, received the Edgar Award, given by the Mystery Writers of America in recognition for the best novel published in that year. The companion novel, This Tender Land, was published in September of 2019 and spent nearly six months on the New York Times bestseller list. His most recent stand-alone, The River We Remember, published in 2023, was featured on many best-of-the-year lists, as well as receiving an Edgar Award nomination for Best Novel. His latest book, God’s Country, will be released later this summer.

Our three SaddleBrooke Libraries offer many of Krueger’s titles in a variety of formats! Please check our online catalog at sblibraries.com for copies at our SaddleBrooke One and DesertView Libraries, and visit the Cholla Library at the MountainView clubhouse to find a selection of his books in hardcover, large print, and paperback.

Tickets are on sale at the SaddleBrooke TWO Administration office. Tickets can be purchased by credit and debit cards only. The cost is $42 per person and includes lunch. Tables seat 10, so grab your friends and make the luncheon even more memorable.

Visit the Friends of SaddleBrooke Libraries website at sbfsl.org for additional information about the luncheon and how to become an FSL member.
