Word for the day: Primavera (Spring)
Doesn’t this spring feel special? Many of us who have received our vaccinations are starting to venture out cautiously, seeing a few friends or family in person for the first time in many, many months. Restaurants are busier with more outdoor dining, and the Spanish Club is starting up again!
The next club meeting will be Monday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m.!
After a successful March Zoom meeting, the Spanish Culture Club (SCC) is looking forward to continuing the Zoom meeting format in April. SCC president Gary Somers has graciously volunteered to do a presentation about his (and Rhonda’s) trip to South America entitled, “Exploring South America: Rio, Buenos Aires, Patagonia, and the Chilean Fjords.” Gary and Rhonda’s 2019 trip even included a visit to Chile’s Rapa Nui (aka Easter Island)! Be sure to mark your calendars! A Zoom link will be sent out closer to the meeting date.
Upcoming Programs for 2021

About Us and Membership
We are a culture club, not a language club, interested in all aspects of Latin American and Spanish culture, including art, music, and customs. Speaking Spanish is not required, as all meetings are conducted in English.
The club meets on the third Monday of every month. For now, our meetings are via Zoom, but we hope to be able to meet in person again in the fall, if not sooner. Come as a guest and try us out!
If you have SaddleBrooke friends/neighbors who are interested in joining our club, suggest that they come as a guest to the next in-person meeting (or even this month as a Zoom guest)! They can get in touch with Susan Durchslag, our membership chair, at [email protected]. Annual dues for new members are normally $20 per person but the SCC is having a $10 per person “pandemic special” this year (2021)!
If you are interested in joining, have any questions, or would like to attend an event on a trial basis, please contact Gary Somers, president, at [email protected] or Susan Durchslag, membership chair, at [email protected].
