SPA held its first ever Fall Brawl on Sunday afternoon, October 8. Approximately 25 participants of all skill levels played Three-Person/Team Pickleball and tried to accrue the highest score in four (4) different accuracy skill games. Water and special treats were provided and there was ample time to socialize and cheer on fellow contestants. There were multiple times to try each skill and improve your accuracy and try to do your personal best. An air of friendly competition and good natured encouragement was definitely part of the “we are having fun” atmosphere.
The most successful players were Gary Stevens “Serves in the Square,” Gary Stevens and Rick Heine with the most number of consecutive dinks and then most consecutive volleys, Gary Stevens and Karol Jackson with most vertical hits with a mini (4” by 4” paddle) and Mary Williams with the most accurate serves through the hoop.
The entire event was organized and orchestrated by Peggy Cobb, USAPA ambassador and SPA member, along with her husband George. Other volunteer assistants included Karen Hop, Rose Anderson, Karol Jackson, Terry Jackson, Jeff Bowen, Els Bowen, Ken Powers, Shawne Cryderman, Gary Brunelle, Mary Williams and Charlene Grimm.
