Sonoran Singers
Marilyn Ginther
Sonoran Singers (three-part ladies group of 22 members) performed a stellar performance on Dec. 4 at the DesertView Performing Arts Center for the Senior Village Christmas/Holiday Extravaganza Music Matinee. With nearly 300 attendees giving encouraging applause and laughter at “The Night before Christmas in SaddleBrooke” narrative, which included relatable nuances about life in SaddleBrooke, Ma and Pa preparing the cozy living room with cookies for Santa and stockings hung while the grandkids dream of Xbox and Barbie, reindeer on the lawn, even an arrival of Santa coming down the chimney. So fun and cute and just really put a huge smile on everyone’s face and in their hearts! One cannot forget the naughty girls who are getting “Nuttin’ for Christmas,” tugging and bugging each other.
The Christmas concert was beautiful, special, and magical. There was such a nice balance of songs between those that were moving and tender with ones that made you laugh and smile! Cora Peters, our director, brought so much natural graciousness, warmth, charm, and love to the entire performance and everything that she shared and conveyed! Starting the show with her beautiful voice singing “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” Jaye Ann Smith, our beloved pianist, brought life to the piano with her amazing accompaniment. The singers looked festive and elegant donning gorgeous pearl waterfall corsages. Best described by one of the attendees, it was so uplifting, joyful, and nurturing! It was an absolutely all-around delightful celebration of the season that brought great cheer and happiness to all!
Hope to see you all again next year for another fun and inspiring concert!
