After taking the summer off, the SaddleBrooke Singers have begun preparations for their annual Holiday Concert to be presented the first week of December.
The SaddleBrooke Singers’ Spring Concert, Salute to America, was a rousing success not only for the group, but for their new Director Tanya Elias Graf. The concert was a blend of inspiring, patriotic and meditative music and the various themes brought many levels of response from the audience. Many members of the audience could be seen with tears in their eyes as the choir sang In Memoriam, a song dedicated to those that have lost their lives in battle.
Here is a sample of written comments received from those who were at the performance:
“A home run, Tanya and Singers! Would that all of America could have seen and heard today’s presentation.”
“The best performance ever! I’m so impressed with Tanya’s directing; she is very talented. I had tears, too! Congratulations, everyone!”
“It was indeed an excellent concert and at times produced some tears—congratulations—my only regret is it was not a sellout! Many people missed a real treat.”
This was the first concert in SaddleBrooke conducted by Director Tanya Elias-Graf and she was pleasantly surprised by the depth of the response received from the audience. She said, in a letter of thanks to the choir, “We have received some very positive and meaningful feedback from the SaddleBrooke community. I have been humbled by the response and am grateful for the opportunity and the experience that we have been given together.”
Knowing that they have a lot to live up to after all the praise for their last concert, the Singers are busily preparing for their Christmas Concert, the first half of which will feature one song from every decade of the Twentieth Century. The second half will be a holiday revue featuring popular holiday songs, complete with accompanying musicians and a little choreography.
The group began their fall season with rehearsals beginning September 11 for their Christmas Concert to be presented on December 2 and 4, 2016. Tickets are on sale now for $18 at the MountainView ticket office or at the DesertView Theatre website.
The SaddleBrooke Singers is open to all residents of SaddleBrooke, including SaddleBrooke Ranch and they rehearse in the HOA 1 Activity Center on Sunday afternoons from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. If you are interested in joining the SaddleBrooke Singers, or want more information, please contact Sam Page at 825-1047.
