At almost 72 years old, SaddleBrooke resident Richard Dinges continues to defy aging and looks the part of someone 20 years his junior. This passion for fitness began nearly 50 years ago while he was on active duty with the U.S. Air Force — and he hasn’t stopped since.
His almost-daily workout includes cardio training and strength conditioning on various state-of-the art equipment machines in the HOA 1 Fitness Center. Weight training includes bench presses at 150 pounds, a stretching regimen and a balancing routine dedicated to fall prevention, a must exercise for seniors.
Twelve years ago Richard was successfully operated on for prostate cancer and two years ago he had knee surgery. But this has not kept him down and he encourages others not to permit anything to stand in their way of keeping fit. Dinges says, “I tell my friends that if they keep motivated, maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly they are sure to increase their chances of living many happy years in beautiful SaddleBrooke.”
