Receive a Dollar-for-Dollar Arizona Tax Credit

Linda Hampton

Arizona residents have a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact right here in SaddleBrooke—while receiving a direct credit on their state taxes. By donating to Senior Village at SaddleBrooke, a Qualified Charitable Organization (QCO #20990), you can support local seniors in need and receive a dollar-for-dollar credit off your Arizona income taxes.

This means that your contribution directly reduces the amount of tax you owe to the state—not just your taxable income. Individuals filing single may receive a credit for donations of up to $495, while those filing jointly can claim up to $987. Every dollar donated stays within the community, helping Senior Village provide essential services such as transportation, friendly visits, home assistance, and other support that enables older adults to live independently and safely in their homes.

Making a tax credit donation is easy. Contributions can be made securely online at seniorvillage.org; by mailing a check to P.O. Box 8584, Tucson, AZ 85738; or by visiting the Senior Village office at 16460 N. Oracle Road between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. The required Arizona tax forms are also conveniently available on the website.

Even better, donations made through April 15, 2026, may be applied to your 2025 Arizona state taxes, giving you additional time to take advantage of this generous program.

Your contribution not only benefits you at tax time—it directly strengthens the community we share. Each donation provides life-enhancing services to some of our most vulnerable neighbors, offering connection, care, and peace of mind to seniors who have given so much to others.

Please remember that Senior Village at SaddleBrooke does not provide tax advice. Donors are encouraged to consult with a qualified tax professional or attorney regarding their individual charitable giving plans.

When you give to Senior Village, you help your neighbors—and receive the gift of knowing your tax dollars are working right here at home.

Every Dollar Counts

Linda Hampton

In early November, Senior Village at SaddleBrooke mailed Compassion in Action to all 5,200 households in our community. The booklet was created as a guide to giving in all its forms—from simple gifts like TisBest Charity Gift Cards to Arizona Tax Credit donations and larger considerations such as RMDs, stock gifts, family trust distributions, and planned giving options. Based on the feedback we’ve received, many residents found it to be a helpful and easy-to-understand resource.

Senior Village serves more than 2,400 members each year, providing rides (covering 285,000 miles thus far), home support, friendly visits, social engagement, and peace of mind to those navigating the realities of aging. These services are made possible through community volunteers and through the generosity of SaddleBrooke residents. And in this community, every dollar counts.

Some residents believe that only large gifts make an impact. In reality, small donations are the backbone of our support. A single contribution—no matter what the size—helps pay for training for volunteers, program coordination, insurance, background checks, and the essential infrastructure that keeps Senior Village running safely and reliably.

While many excellent charities serve our region and deserve support, Senior Village is the only organization that can truly say that every dollar donated directly helps a SaddleBrooke resident. When you give, the impact stays right here in our community.

As we look to 2026 and the continued growth of SaddleBrooke, your support ensures that residents today—and the residents of tomorrow—will receive the compassionate help they need to remain independent, connected, and cared for.

During this season of giving, we invite you to embrace a message that has resonated with our community for years: Give Where You Live.

Senior Village honorees at 10-year celebration: David Loendorf, Stephanie Thomas, Barbara Fleming (widow of Dick Fleming), Gary Hammond

Pathfinder Event Celebrates a Decade of Service

Linda Hampton

On Oct. 25 Senior Village at SaddleBrooke launched a year-long celebration marking 10 years of service to the SaddleBrooke community. The special Pathfinder Event honored the dedicated volunteers and generous donors who helped shape the organization from its earliest days.

The celebration recognized the first volunteers who joined in 2015 and early 2016—individuals whose vision and hard work built the foundation for what Senior Village has become today. Deep appreciation was also expressed for the donors who have sustained the Village through the years, including Dr. Ashvin Patel whose generosity last year helped make it possible for the organization to purchase its own office building, an enduring milestone for the Village’s future.

A highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of engraved tribute trays to four exceptional contributors: Gary Hammond, Barbara Fleming, Stephanie Thomas, and David Loendorf. Gary and Barbara’s late husband Dick Fleming were among the very first to develop the idea for Senior Village, turning compassion for aging neighbors into a sustainable model of community support. Stephanie Thomas and David Loendorf were honored for their lasting leadership and immeasurable contributions to the Village’s growth and stability.

The event was filled with warmth, gratitude, and camaraderie as attendees reflected on a decade of service, friendship, and shared purpose.

Reflecting later on the day, Stephanie Thomas shared, “The Pathfinders reception was like celebrating a major holiday with all the family gathered around. There was a feeling of kinship, a history of working together, and an affection that can only come from sharing ups and downs. Seeing so many original volunteers who helped get Senior Village running made the occasion extra special for David and me.”
