Feb. 1 was the conclusion of the annual Presidents Cup tournament. This is a match play event. Thirty-two players qualified for the event on Jan. 11, and matches were played Jan. 20 through Feb. 1. Carol Bidwell was the Presidents Cup champion by winning her match against Takyeo Eakin. Gail Plimpton finished in third place. Congratulations to the winners and all participants.
The annual Quail Classic tournament will be held April 10 to 12 after a two-year COVID hiatus. The theme for the event is Around the World in 18 Holes and is chaired by Audrey Costello and Maggie Falconer. Sign-up deadline is Friday, March 18, and the committee is hoping for a great turnout.
February sponsors were Fairway Cooling & Heating, Kathy Minx Long Realty, First Inspection, and Oro Valley Eye Care.
March sponsors will be Wendy Harn of Morris Hall, Ridgeview Therapy, AIM Mail Center, Andy’s Irrigation, and Windows of Greater Tucson.
A hole-in-one was carded on Feb. 19 on SaddleBrooke number 2 by Shirley Hamann. She used a nine-iron to tee off.
