On Oct. 23 nine 18-holers from SaddleBrooke participated in the LPGA amateur event, A String of Good Luck, at The Views. Luck certainly prevailed, as we had a beautiful day, and two players, Joan Chyall and Ellen Avenoso, each took third place in their respective flights. Bonnie Westra was the big winner. She won the 50/50 raffle! The nine players were Cathe Kropp, Joan Chyall, Jan Kreis, Bonnie Westra, Ellen Avenoso, Jo Ann Ellison, Sharon Kreutzen, Linda Burnham, and Darlene Warner.
Meanwhile, back at SaddleBrooke One, all of the nines are now open for play after having been groomed, top-dressed, and overseeded. The SBWGA 18-Holers are gearing up for their fall season. The snowbirds are trickling back, and we have a full tournament lineup, starting with our Cactus Classic Tournament, which runs for three days starting on Nov. 14.
