In 2017, SaddleBrooke Community Outreach approved a request from the Mammoth San Manuel Community Schools to provide financial support for its Little League Baseball Program. The program runs from the end of April to the end of June. SBCO’s assistance was needed to fill the void left when other sponsors reduced their donations. The initial SBCO grant of $2,500 provided funding for start-up registration, bases and uniform assistance for 57 students, aged four to 12.
SBCO is continuing to support this team in 2018, providing sponsorships for both the Little League and the girls’ softball teams. As financial support from the mining companies have declined to a few hundred dollars, SBCO has stepped up, providing up to $7,000 to ensure these children continue to have meaningful summer activities.
