SaddleBrooke’s Got Talent… and we want it!

Ann Vernon

One of the factors that makes the Treats and Talents Charity Auction so unique is that there are numerous fixed price events that have proven to be extremely popular. People throughout this SaddleBrooke community have purchased these events at the auction and have attended them throughout the year, giving residents a chance to meet people from other units and experience new things.

For example, last year’s Beach Boys Blowout was tremendous fun with over 50 people competing for the first place in Beach Boys trivia or the beach ball toss. Those in attendance feasted on Sloppy Joes and hot dogs as they enjoyed a glass of beer or wine, gearing up to dance the night away to awesome Beach Boys tunes.

Another very enjoyable event was a cocktail party hosted by several couples. Attendees were entertained by pianist Mary Martin Stockdale and her talented daughters who wowed the audience with their beautiful voices. Other examples of popular fixed price events included a jewelry making class, a holiday candy class followed by a delicious lunch, a bird hike and brunch, wine dinners at Carrabba’s and a Mexican Fiesta.

So if you like to bake, sew, make jewelry or do arts and crafts, the Treats and Talents Auction wants your talent! Get a group of friends and neighbors together and host a wine tasting, a martini party or a theme dinner. Please consider donating to this worthy charity that gives money to organizations such as Youth on Their Own, Impact and SaddleBrooke Community Outreach among others.

Mark your calendars now and plan to attend the eighth auction on March 11, 2015. In addition to the fixed price items, there will also be a live and silent auction.
