On the evening of March 28 in the SaddleBrooke TWO ballroom, 139 people enjoyed the SaddleBrooke Writers Group Coffee House program. Twenty-five writers presented their short stories and poems to an appreciative audience who responded with much applause, lots of laughter, and sometimes a tear or two.
The ballroom was beautifully decorated with tables covered with black tablecloths and centerpiece lanterns containing colorful flowers. A no-host bar was available. Coffee, tea, and delicious desserts of brownies and lemon bars were also served.
Many compliments were received regarding the ability to clearly hear the presentations and the variety and quality of the writings, which included humor, touching true stories, and beautiful and thought-provoking poetry.
The SaddleBrooke Writers Group presents a Coffee House program every other year. The group consists of both beginning and more experienced writers. All are welcome.
