SBWS Summer Rehearsal with Jesus Jacquez directing
Dawn Walker
SaddleBrooke Winds and Strings (SBWS) is having a busy summer, rehearsing weekly and preparing for a Summer Concert in Tucson. The concert on Aug. 16 will feature two programs: one by SBWS and the other by Tucson New Horizons String Orchestra. Both programs will feature familiar tunes, as well as some from the concert literature, directed by our beloved conductor Jesus Jacquez. The concert is free and will start at 6:30 p.m. at Grace St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
SBWS is a no-audition ensemble and is especially looking for clarinet, trumpet, horn, trombone, and timpani players. So, dust off that instrument in the closet and come join us! We rehearse on Friday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. We usually rehearse at the MountainView ballroom at SaddleBrooke TWO and on occasion at Vista de la Montaña United Methodist Church in Catalina. If you have any questions, email us at info@saddlebrookewindsandstrings.org.
Save the date! SBWS will present a Spooktacular Halloween Concert at DesertView Performing Arts Center in SaddleBrooke on Oct. 31 at 6 p.m.
