SaddleBrooke Winds and Strings (SBWS) Band will be performing its spring concert in the DesertView Performing Arts Center on the evening of April 24.

SBWS is comprised of amateur and professional musicians from SaddleBrooke and surrounding areas. SBWS was founded by SaddleBrooke residents in 2013. As the group expanded, rehearsals moved from residents’ homes to the MountainView Ballroom. Performances over the years have been held at the MountainView Ballroom, Catalina State Park, and various retirement communities in the Northwest Tucson region.

We are now under the baton of an accomplished conductor, Jesus Jacquez, who graduated in music education from the University of Arizona; has eight years’ experience teaching band, orchestra, and chorus in the public schools; and plays clarinet in the Arizona Symphonic Winds, Sonora Winds, and the Tucson Concert Band. He serves in Educational Services at Instrumental Music Center and has plans to pursue graduate studies in conducting at the University of Arizona.

Our first concert under Jesus, in December, was a phenomenal success. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to hear a brand-new program by this talented group of musicians at the DesertView Performing Arts Center on April 24 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased at the door or through DesertView PAC at saddlebrooketwo.showare.com/?venue=1 ($1.50 processing fee).
