SaddleBrooke Volleyball Club members and guests recently gathered for their fall social event at the Cadillac Chaparral Steakhouse. About 20 people started the fun by visiting with each other and then everyone enjoyed a delicious barbeque dinner served by attentive employees of the Steakhouse.

When all the guests had finished eating, the group moved into the lounge area for a rousing session of karaoke. Chris and Shirley Borden hosted the entertainment, presenting song lists of favorites to choose, and even encouraging other restaurant patrons to join the fun. Singers, whether solo, duo, or in a group, received enthusiastic applause.

The club, which was formed in September 1998, includes charter members who have been playing volleyball since then, as well as newer players who have joined more recently. All residents, both male and female, are invited to join the fun on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Mountain Vista School in Oracle.

If you like to play volleyball or would like to learn to play, you are welcome to come. Co-ed players compete with different members placed on opposing teams at each session, which ensures lively competition and learning experiences while having fun. Laughter and jokes are a big part of the SaddleBrooke Volleyball program!

Annual membership is $40 per person or $70 a couple. Guests pay nothing on their first visit and may continue to play as visitors for a fee of $2 per night (payable the evening of play). A complete schedule can be viewed and printed from the club’s webpage that is available by accessing “Clubs” on both the HOA One and HOA Two websites or go directly to

Put on your tee shirt and sneakers and come out on Wednesday evenings to make new friends and enjoy exercise and friendly competition with the SaddleBrooke Volleyball Club.
