SaddleBrooke Swimmers at Calgary Nationals

Lyn Moreno

Eight Arizona master swimmers were among 521 other swimmers from all over Canada and the United States swimming in a three-day 2018 Canadian Masters Swimming Championship held May 19-21 in Calgary Alberta.

Our team came away with our share of medals, mainly Coach Doug Springer and Corinna Goodman who received all first places. Coach Doug swam exceptionally well taking seconds off all of his six swims especially in the 400-individual medley (the hardest, grueling race of all) taking 27 seconds off his submitted seed time!

The three-day meet was run very efficiently with the help of over 100 volunteers. Each day began at 9:00 a.m. and usually finished by 3:00 p.m. Two 25-meter pools had events running continually with men in one pool and the women in the other pool.
