SaddleBrooke Sunrise Rotary Makes Moves in Mammoth

Christianne Dettmann

The drive to Mammoth, Ariz., from SaddleBrooke is stunningly beautiful and well-traveled by many members of the SaddleBrooke Sunrise Rotary Club. At least two or three times each month, dedicated club and community volunteers lend their muscles to the mission of the Tri-Community Food Bank (TCFB) where trucks laden with varieties of donated fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable food items await their helping hands. Pies, breads, grapes, bananas, soups, cereals, pastas, and much more are gratefully received, unloaded, and organized into the TCFB’s storage facilities. However, these healthy staples don’t stay there for long! Each month, the TCFB typically serves over 300 patrons coming from three different zip code areas.

Just a few short blocks down the road leading back to SaddleBrooke is La Casita restaurant where customers are greeted by a Little Free Library as they enter and leave. Painted the color of bright sunshine and stocked full of books for all ages and reading abilities, this tiny but powerful resource was born from the generosity and creativity of SaddleBrooke Sunrise Rotary Club members who also update its contents regularly.

The SaddleBrooke Sunrise Rotary Club is committed to serving the needs of the local community and does so in many other ways as well.
