Jackie McCarthy (left) and Elke Mulligan spiritedly welcome us to the October luncheon.

Jim and Jackie McCarthy set off the holiday season in bewitching form at our October luncheon in their wonderfully decorated home. Jackie confesses that Halloween is her favorite holiday and it shows! What a wonderful collection of Halloween delights! The cooks and salad makers of the SaddleBrooke Stroke/Neuro Support Group gave them solid support and a great time was had by all! A huge thank you to Jim and Jackie!

Plans are underway for the November caregivers’ luncheon to be held Friday, November 21 at 11:30 a.m.in the home of another member. Caregivers’ luncheons are opportunities for discussion of concerns of caregivers when giving assistance to loved ones affected by stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and rare neurologic disorders. If you are your own caregiver, we also welcome you. If you wish to join us please contact Elke Mulligan, membership chairperson, at  825-3641); Sigrid Silverman, social chairperson, at 825-8684 or Jackie McCarthy, social committee, at 818-0531 so that we may include you.

Holiday Party

All members of the group—-caregivers and caregivees alike—-are invited to our sixth annual Holiday Party at 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 8 at the home of members. After a coordinated potluck dinner, our traditional White Elephant exchange of unusual treasures and collection for holiday outreach programs of Golder Ranch firefighters will follow. This celebration unites our entire group and allows us to count our blessings.
