On October 21 the SaddleBrooke Niners hosted the Lady Sputters for their annual Niners/Sputters Tournament. The Sputters like this event because they get out on the golf course and the Niners like it because they don’t have to putt. Plus it was followed by a delicious quiche luncheon including sinfully good cinnamon buns, bacon and fresh fruit.

Niners, Opal Larkin and Julie Egolf co-chaired the event which appropriately had a fall theme. Marion Ramsey of the Sputters arranged the luncheon and the Niners put together a Guess the Number of Candies in the Jar contest. The game was a modified scramble format with the Sputters doing all the putting and most of the cart driving since it was cart path only. The Niners did a lot of walking with their bouquet of clubs along with them.

Winners of the event were First place with a net score of 29 were Marlene Cowan, Donna Gruninger, Doris Clark and Sharon Powers. Second place went to Margery Nemura, Sue Search, Betsy Levenson and Carol Priestley also with a score of 29. Winners for third place were Dian Kupper, Rosemary Topper, Ann Adams and Sylvia Bonesky. Their score was 30. With a score of 30 also were the fourth place winners Pat Mochel, Ann Pelton, Doris Dieterle and Joyce Leary. Fifth place winners were Kathleen Weiss, Lois LaNasa, Gloria Franklin and Helen Schetky.

The next event for the Niners is the annual Turkey Shoot with lunch in the Vistas Dining Room. It is always a fun event and all Niners are encouraged to participate. Signup is on the bulletin board and luncheon is charged to the homeowner’s account.
