SaddleBrooke Singers’ Rehearsals Begin! Come Join Us!

Cheri Emahiser

We are always looking for new singers, and we invite you to join us on any Sunday afternoon in January. You will be warmly welcomed by the Singers.

Be Onstage with Us!

Can you imagine making music on the DesertView Performing Arts Center stage with the SaddleBrooke Singers? It is a wonderful experience. Envision singing in time and harmony with your choral members as you follow the accompaniment and the director’s gestures as she shapes the music. You could be one of the voices contributing to the whole group, helping to make the music come together. As a member of the Singers, you could feel a double benefit—not only the individual rush that comes from singing, but you will surely experience a great emotional uplift from singing with others.

Singing Is Very Good for You!

Singing is not just joyful, it’s biologically bonding. Whether in choirs, community events, or personal rituals, it’s a form of healing that’s both ancient and scientifically validated.

The Sing Up Foundation adds, “singing lowers cortisol and relieves stress and tension,” and that it releases oxytocin, which enhances trust and bonding. Even more poetically, they note that singing is a mindful act—“When you are singing, you are fully focused on it … distracting your mind from negative thoughts.”

Join Us!

If singing brings you joy, we’d love to welcome you into our musical family—no auditions required! Some of our repertoire is musically challenging, and we’re especially grateful for singers with prior experience. If you’ve sung in choirs before or feel confident navigating complex harmonies, your skills will be a wonderful asset to the group. We rehearse Sundays from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the SaddleBrooke One Activity Center, 64518 E. Galveston Lane.

Meet our director Tanya Elias. She brings a rare blend of musical excellence and infectious positivity to every rehearsal. Her warmth, humor, and deep expertise help us sound our very best—and make singing together a true joy. Don’t miss the chance to sing alongside Tucson’s own jazz virtuoso Sly Slipetsky, our brilliant pianist, whose improvisational flair and soulful touch elevate every rehearsal into a concert-worthy experience.

Just drop in around 2:15 p.m. We’ll find you a chair, hand you some music, and dive in together. The repertoire is new to all of us, so we learn as a group, support each other, and have a tremendous amount of fun along the way.
