SaddleBrooke Republican Club features Barry Webb

Patricia Tarner

Back by popular demand, Barry Webb returned to share his in-depth knowledge of the forces of terrorism in the form of al-Qaeda and ISIS which threaten not only the very foundation of the United States but the safety of the world at large. To the fascination of his audience, Mr. Webb shared the information about the origins of both al-Qaeda and ISIS as well as the ways their philosophies and goals differ. He stressed the danger that lurks in our southern hemisphere where camps of terrorists train with the goal of crossing our southern border to create an atmosphere of fear through organized terror attacks, many of which will feature lone wolf terrorists. Mr. Webb informed his audience that both al-Qaeda and ISIS have forged agreements with drug cartels to smuggle both goods and people into the United States across our southern borders. His message, shared through a slide show presentation, has the goal of creating awareness of the potential dangers incumbent in the fact that America and its allies are losing the war on terror and the need for increased measures of keeping these dangers in check by protecting our borders as well as strengthening our government agencies responsible for our safety.

Barry Webb, in addition to his career as an NSA Arabic translator, has lived, worked and studied in the Middle East, has an MA in Ancient History, an MA in Middle Eastern Studies and has read the Qur’an front to back numerous times. Since retirement from the NSA, Barry has continued to stay informed about the spread of terrorism with increasing alarm. This alarm has led him to write a pair of political thrillers and a newly released non-fiction book, Confessions of an (ex) NSA Spy. Why America and its Allies are Losing the War on Terror. His non-fiction book documents all the reasons why America and its allies are losing the war on terror.
