Happy Tail: From Maine to Texas to SaddleBrooke
Romayne Trudo
It has been a long, arduous trip for Miss Bo, but she has now found her forever home. Miss Bo was living the good life in Maine until her owner passed away suddenly. Family members Kelli and Brian, who are also snowbirds in SaddleBrooke, drove to Maine to pick up their mom’s beloved dog. Their intent was to bring Miss Bo back to Texas to enjoy the rest of her life with them, wintering in Arizona and summering in Texas. They also owned another dog and cat. However, the cat was not going to allow Miss Bo to stay, under any circumstances.
Kelli and Brian were desperate to find a home for this sweet, eight-year-old corgi mix who they described as having short legs, a long body, and a big heart. They contacted SaddleBrooke Pet Rescue Network (SBPRN) to ask for assistance re-homing Miss Bo. You can call it divine intervention, because SBPRN had recently been contacted by Patrick and Sandra Polencheck, asking for assistance in finding them a new companion. In December they had said goodbye to their cherished Pomeranian mix, Gus. They had a great need to share their life and love with another homeless pet. The SBPRN volunteer felt that Miss Bo would be a good fit for the Polenchecks. So, Kelli and Brian took a leap of faith and drove from Dallas to SaddleBrooke for a meet and greet. Fortunately, Miss Bo quickly charmed her way into Patrick and Sandra’s hearts, and the adoption was finalized on Feb. 10. This sweet little girl now has at least two or three walks daily and loves to ride in the golf cart. We think Gus was instrumental in bringing Miss Bo to the Polenchecks to heal their hearts.
