The SaddleBrooke Paper Crafters (SBPC) celebrated the club’s 27th anniversary at the annual Holiday Party on Dec. 10 and honored the numerous members who support the club with sponsored volunteer activities.

Angela Stokes, our club vice president, started planning for this event in April. Angela, along with her Holiday Party Committee, including Tina Lee Labis, Marge Wong, Ann LaPerre, Angela Gothard, and Marlene D’Ambrosio, worked hard to make this event a huge success. SBPC members enjoyed a delicious luncheon, challenging party games, and a holiday tag and gift exchange.

Something new this year was a festive holiday sing-along with alternative lyrics composed by Ann LaPerre, SBPC president, set to the tune of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” Our brave member Angela Gothard led the entire group in a rousing and hysterical version of this holiday classic entitled “The Twelve Days of Amazon.” Needless to say, we all decided it is a good thing we are not a singing group, but we sure had fun!

During the past year, SBPC members donated countless hours creating hundreds of their handmade cards, lovingly made at their own expense, to Senior Village. But this year the generosity of this group was even more on display with a voluntary donation to IMPACT of Southern Arizona Food Bank.

Volunteering is a big part of what makes this club a success. In addition to their monthly card donations to Senior Village, our members lead club-sponsored Fun Shops, Card-in-a-Box meetings, and monthly technique demonstrations. During the Holiday Party, our members who continue to donate their time and expertise to our club were recognized, and it was truly amazing to see the number of individuals who contribute to our club’s success.

With our Holiday Party a sweet memory, and as we head into 2026, you can be sure that SBPC members will continue to volunteer, craft their cards, and engage in the joy and friendship that this hobby brings to each of us.
