Now that we’ve weathered the triple-digit days and monsoon rains of August, the SaddleBrooke Lady Niners look forward to a busy and fun-filled fall. On September 24, we will enjoy our annual LAGOS Tournament. For anyone who doesn’t know, LAGOS stands for Ladies Amalgamated Golf of SaddleBrooke (the name was created by the husband of one of our founding Niners). On this day, the Niners combine with the AWGA 18-ers for a round of nine holes followed by a brunch upstairs in the Vistas Dining Room. Believe it or not, back in the early days of this event, there were not as many golfers (men or ladies), so any players who wanted to go back out after brunch or lunch simply informed the Pro Shop and went back out for another nine holes. How times have changed!
September is the month when our overseeding takes place, but we will continue our Tuesday golfing, as usual, with just one week of all courses being closed. Meanwhile, our Nominating Committee will be finalizing the slate of officers for 2018. This slate will be presented at our October 10 General Meeting and luncheon, where a vote will be taken.
As you can see, after the hot summer weather, we are all set to swing into fall! To join us, simply pick up an application from the computer room of the Pro Shop or call Debbie Thompson at 333-9564. Come check us out and prepare to have fun!
