The Ladies’ Choice event took place on April 22. “Let’s Go to Mexico” was the theme, with no airfare or TSA involvement! Baja was right here in SaddleBrooke. In this nine-hole event, our ladies invite a gentleman to play. Prizes and a special lunch followed play on a beautiful, blue-sky morning. Eighteen foursomes comprised the field on the Tucson course. Winners for this event were as follows: Flight 1: 1st place: Sue Schliepsiek and Andy Timothy, Flight 2: 1st place: Sue Mobley and Steve Nelson. Congratulations!
“Spring Across the Brooke 2025” was a super, fun-filled morning. Seventy-two ladies participated, and Mother Nature put on her best show. Kudos to Sue Schliepsiek, Special Event chair. Six teams were in the money. First place: T. Tindal, N. Wyllie, D. Bunker; second place: C. Dowell, K. Coffman, B. Bloch, V. Long; third place: M. Leversee, C. Whitt, K. Vander Jagt, D. Gilliat-Norgard; fourth place: J. Lahman, L. Kaprosy, D. Thompson, J. Webster; fifth place: T. Mares, L. Merritt, H. Biggs, T. Hoffman; sixth place: R. Ray, M. Butcher, W. Green, S. Schliepsiek. We want to thank the MountainView/Preserve Lady Niners for joining us. It’s always fun to make new friends and catch up on news from “across the Brooke.”
The big news during this tournament was a hole-in-one! Congrats to Vicki Long who aced SaddleBrooke 2 using a 7 iron and a Callaway ball. (Vicki’s husband found the ball on the course and gave it to her!) Way to go, Vicki!
The Presidents Cup was our next major tournament. Play took place on May 6, 8, 10, and 13. This annual event is played from the red tees, and the format is match play.
These past few months have been full of events arranged by our hard-working members. Thanks so much, ladies, for all you do to keep our league busy and ensure we are organized. And a special shout-out to the Pro Shop, Starters, and our generous sponsors. Thank you!
