On a beautiful December day, the SaddleBrooke Men’s Niners golf league held its Heroes Luncheon for members and spouses or significant others. The luncheon was begun seven years ago by Ted Swenson to honor members that had passed away during the year and to thank the wives for all the time allowed to play. The event took place at the Westward Look Resort with everyone meeting in the bar area followed by a wonderful three course lunch in the Gold Room. Ted Swenson explained the wisdom for hosting the wives and friends after which Dennis Holt, President of the Niners Golf League thanked everyone for coming and reminded members of the annual meeting the following week when elections take place, new members are introduced, rules of play are explained and questions are answered. Nearly ninety were in attendance.
