The SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club is off to a great start in 2026! The annual meeting was held on Jan. 19, and a new board of directors was elected, consisting of President Amy Schwartz, Vice President Tracy McGeorge, Treasurer Connie Lewis, and Member-at-Large Dale Lips. Sheryl Kocher is staying for a second year as secretary.

It will be a tough act to follow the outgoing board’s strong leadership and talent. Jane Sims stepped down as president but thankfully will continue to lead the Novice+ Workshop. Jan Maresca leaves the budget and financial details in great shape for the new treasurer, Connie. The club sends special kudos and thanks to Jan after four years of great dedication to the club. And Lynda Fraley’s excellent writing also lays the groundwork for her member-at-large replacement, Dale!

The new president, Amy Schwartz, stated that her primary goals are to support the many volunteers, maintain clear and consistent communication, and promote the social and fun spirit that makes the club so special. She emphasized that we do line dancing for enjoyment, to move our bodies, challenge our minds, and to connect with one another.

Vice President Tracy McGeorge will succeed Amy as president next year. She stated during the meeting that she has a deep appreciation for all the volunteers and would like to do her part in contributing to the club’s overall success.

The year ahead will have many fun events centered around line dancing. The next party will be the Valentine Round-Up on Feb. 10 at Cadillac Chaparral Steakhouse. There will be dancing (of course!), good food, and drinks and a lot of camaraderie. The Valentine Round-Up was hugely popular last year and is a great opportunity for newer members to show off the dances they’ve learned and to watch and be motivated by the more advanced dancers!
