On Dec. 16 the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club hosted 47 members for a celebratory day of dancing, dining, and camaraderie. The setting was The Vistas restaurant at SaddleBrooke One, which was decked out for the holidays. There were several large Christmas trees trimmed with lights, balls, and tinsel scattered throughout the venue. The table groupings were similarly adorned with festive poinsettias, white table linens, and fun holiday chocolate drops (thanks to the Social Committee) ringing the red, pink, and white floral displays. The dance floor, too, was lovely, with a large, decorated tree in one corner of the Vermillion Room around which the dancers gathered. Even the beautiful mountain views from the windows were accented with Christmas wreaths.
It was a fitting setting for the gaily outfitted party-goers. Many dancers wore their holiday best of velvet or lace. More than one holiday elf, Santa Claus, or reindeer-horned dancer took to the floor, producing a pleasing swirl of green and red as they twirled to a fine collection of holiday music chosen by the talented Music and Dance Committees. Hits such as “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” and “Feliz Navidad” kept the partiers dancing and smiling throughout the morning and early afternoon. Just before lunch, the lead dancers offered a surprise instruction of a new dance called YMCA, which was an immediate hit on the dance floor.
The luncheon was preceded by a presentation of fun door prizes to lucky members who held winning tickets. Hungry dancers then enjoyed bowls of delicious soup and healthy, crispy salads, accompanied by warm, crunchy rolls.
Once again, club members are grateful for the talent and effort of the Social, Music, and Dance Committees who volunteer their time so that everyone might enjoy the celebration, as well as the skilled dance leaders who take the dancers through quick reviews before each dance.
All and all, the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club is a great organization, and if you would like to add us to your dance card for 2026, please visit our website saddlebrookelinedance.club for information about membership, which is a steal at $25 per year. Maybe we will see you on the dance floor!
