Elisabeth Wheeler
Robles Pass trails are south of the Tucson Mountains and Ajo Way, once known as Robles Pass. Bernabe S. Robles was the son of a pioneer from Sonora who became a Tucson businessman, ran a stage coach line and at the height of his career controlled one million acres in southern Arizona. SaddleBrooke hikers enjoyed exploring six miles of Robles trails with Elisabeth Wheeler, spotting Desert Rose Mallow, Rock Hibiscus and other wildflowers. The photo was taken at a stone house ruin above Ajo Way. Hikers had fun conjecturing about the possible history of the house.
