On April 23 SaddleBrooke Freethinkers had a member dinner party at the SaddleBrooke One Activity Center. About 120 members attended, with 80 sitting inside and 40 sitting out on the patio. The weather was perfect. The food was provided by the club, and members brought their beverage of choice. The party was enjoyed by all. The volunteers made the event. We want to thank the food preparers, Sandy and Bart Epstein, Christine and Randy Smith, Diane and Howard Cohen, Suzanne and Bill Mead, Tony and Martha Lewis, Barbara Starrett and JoAnn Ellison, and Rick Carlson and Dan Fristoe. The check-in volunteers, John Elder, Diane Aaron, Lockwood and Darlene Carlson, and Art and Sharon Treister, got everyone to their seats. And special thanks to the general volunteers, Lorraine Stillman, Carol Gilman, Carol Cannon, Christine Schmitz, Bill and Linnea Boaz, Derrick and Shirley Lynch, Harold and Sylvia Kirk, Sherry Kaplan, Tom and Pat Frame, Denise Edwards, and Esta Goldstein. They made everything run smoothly, from setting up the buffet, decorating the tables, refreshing the food, and then an unbelievable cleanup.
SaddleBrooke Freethinkers provides a forum for the responsible search for truth and meaning in understanding and solving human problems by applying science and reason. We believe that tolerance, compassion, equity, and civility should characterize interactions among people and organizations. We strive to achieve these goals through meetings, lectures, and discussions.
You can become a member of the SaddleBrooke Freethinkers for $15 per calendar year. This fee includes all lectures and other Freethinkers events like the book club and social events. The lecture program runs January through April and October through December. Lectures are open to all SaddleBrooke residents and their guests as space is available.
