SaddleBrooke Freethinkers held its first ever Thirdsty Thursday at the Roadrunner Grill on June 18. Nineteen SaddleBrooke residents attended this informal gathering during the Roadrunner Grill’s happy hour (happy two hours) to get to know each other better in a casual environment. As this new monthly event is strictly for socializing there was no guest speaker or formal agenda. Conversations among participants filled the room as new friendships developed.

Future Thirdsty Thursday gatherings will be at the Roadrunner Grill from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on, you guessed it, the third Thursday of each month, year round, so put it on your calendar. We are a non-sectarian group with no creeds or dogmas, no obligations and no dues. All are welcome to attend this monthly informal gathering as well as the more structured monthly meetings.

According to our organizational charter, we “believe in the responsible search for truth and meaning and in the application of reason and science to the understanding of the universe and the solving of human problems. We believe that tolerance, compassion, equity and civility should characterize the interaction among peace loving persons and organizations.”

The SaddleBrooke Freethinkers usually meet on the fourth Sunday morning each month, October to April. For information about SaddleBrooke Freethinkers, announcements of upcoming programs and summaries of past programs, go to www.sbfreethinkers.wordpress.com.
