SaddleBrooke: A community that cares – Two day cancer fund raising events scheduled in February

Mark your calendars for February 16 and 17 for the second A Community That Cares fundraiser for the University of Arizona Cancer Research Center. This two day fund raising event, chaired by Clark Hall, features two major events with lots of fun, activity and great prizes.

The Sunday, February 16 event starts off with a Taste of SaddleBrooke at the SaddleBrooke Activity Center. This ticketed event includes a tasting of up to 20 specialty items from a combination of SaddleBrooke residents and local restaurants. Each entrant will have a table with a unique specialty item for tasting. After the 4:00 pm tasting, the event moves to the SaddleBrooke One Clubhouse Vistas Room for an included Chef’s special dessert and included drink. During the dessert course there will be a silent and live auction with terrific items including Brighton jewelry from the Golf Shop, Taylor Made golf clubs and the outstanding grand item up for auction: a trip for two to the fabulous Kenai Peninsula in Alaska next summer which includes four nights lodging with one night at the Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge and three nights at the Birch Ridge Golf Course Executive Suite. Also included in the Alaska trip package are a Kenai River float trip with two half day fishing trips on the world renowned Kenai River, two days of golf at Birch Ridge Golf course, a Wildlife and Glacier cruise at Kenai Fjords National Park and a $200.00 Tesoro gasoline card. The Kenai Peninsula Alaska package is being provided by the Soldatna, Alaska, Chamber of Commerce. This is a can’t miss event for a great cause. Tickets for the Taste of SaddleBrooke are $50.00 per person, a $45.00 tax deduction value, and will go on sale at the SaddleBrooke One Golf Shop on January 1, 2014.

The Monday, February 17 event is a Cancer Cause Special Scramble format for four person teams for our golfing community and both Men’s and Ladies’ Putters putting contests with prizes and luncheon in the Vistas Restaurant. In addition to these fundraising events, EZGO and Coyote Golf Cars of SaddleBrooke are providing a 2014 EZGO golf cart for raffle to support this event. Tickets for the golf cart raffle will be $25.00 each or five for $100.00. Those who purchase the five for $100.00 will also receive a separate gold ticket which will be used for a separate gold ticket only raffle; more details will follow in subsequent announcements. Golf cart raffle tickets are on sale at SaddleBrooke One Golf Shop now.
