Well, softball groupies, it’s hard to believe the Fall softball season is into its eighth week here on Nov. 24. Just this week and two more and 2025 will be “in da books.” Then a three-week hiatus over the holidays into January and SaddleBrooke Senior Softball’s Winter session. Winter season will run Jan. 5 through April 17.

Fall League Action

Meantime, the softballers are into their eighth week, and the action is hot and heavy. That’s far enough along to have most of the leagues shaping up for the “final run.”

On Mondays in Recreational (single A), Catalina Family Dental is off to a 4-2 start over Community Church of SaddleBrooke at 2-4. The church needs to get rolling here pretty quick to stave off cellarville. On to Community (AAA), where Linda Meyer-Long Realty has forged out to a 6-4 league lead over Heredia’s Landscaping and Shifren Physical Therapy, both at 5-6. Just two more weeks for Heredia’s and Shifren to catch Linda Meyer.

Tuesday is Competitive (AAAA) only this fall, and as the birds have flocked back into town, there are three teams. Hardin Brothers Automotive has led the way most of the season and is 6-4. Concierge Heating and Cooling at 5-4 has a chance to catch them and take the league bragging rights (such as they are!), but Dominick’s Real Italian, at 3-6, is probably destined for cellarville.

On Wednesdays in Sidewinder (AA), The Moore Advantage-Real Estate and Tom Ottaway-State Farm are in a tough battle, with Moore at 4-3 and Ottaway at 3-4. In Community, Cleere Law, at 6-3, can be caught, but it’s gonna be tough. Nara Brown-Long Realty is 4-5, and SaddleBrooke One is 4-6, so they both pretty much have to “win out.”

Thursday is Coyote day (65-plusers), and Ambient Air H&C and Twin Lake Air are locked in a battle at 3-3 each! No game Thanksgiving week, so just two games left for the tinbenders. Crank up the furnaces, boys and girls, and get hot!

On Fridays in Competitive, Ridgeview Physical Therapy and Hughes Credit Union are locked in a 5-4 tie. No games this holiday week, so just two weeks left in this battle! SaddleBrooke TWO isn’t “mathematically” out of it, but they gotta grind it here the last two weeks! In Community, there’s a battle, as Harn Legacy has forged out to a 6-3 lead, with Oro Ford at 4-5 and Red Earth Tile at 4-6. Just two weeks left, but there’s a doubleheader in there somewhere and Harn could get caught! Holy softball, Batman!

Post-Game Wrap

Annnnd cut! That’s a wrap, folks! Fall league games are daily, Monday through Friday, starting at 9 a.m. Practices are on Saturday when you can tune the bat and glove. If you want more info, come on down to the field. Or you can surf the Association at saddlebrookesoftball.com.
