One hundred sixty-six Packer, Badger and other assorted Wisconsin attire-wearing celebrants rejoiced in their mutual legacy at the HOA 1 clubhouse, Wednesday evening, February 22.
It was the largest such Badger gathering of the current six-year running annual fete.
SaddleBrooke One’s dining staff served the festivities splendidly—again! There was pre-dinner music by SaddleBrooke’s own Wind and Strings Orchestra, Ed Sands conducting, and dance music by DJ Bob Osborne—again! Around 50 door prizes, many donated by attendees and native to Wisconsin, were awarded—can you say “cheese?”
Jonathan Green, who broadcast The Green House p.m. drive show on WTMJ Milwaukee from 1969 through 2010 before moving to SaddleBrooke MC’d again. He also led a sing-along of the ever popular song The Bears Still Suck by The Happy Schnapps Combo of Manitowoc. SaddleBrooke’s most prolific photographer, Bob Koblewski, himself a Wisconsin ex-pat, recorded the festivities for a follow-up slideshow as he always does. About 20 Wisconsin native volunteers work on this party every year.
The SaddleBrooke Wisconsin Party committee is already planning another party for 2018, probably in February. The format has been working, so expect another great one. The best way to know all about it is to be on the email list kept by Barb Treick the committee chairman. If you are not on the list, call her at 825-4677 or send her an email at [email protected].
If you claim to be from Wisconsin, but have no interest in attending these wonderful events, you must be a Bears fan. Ugh!
