Ron Victor continues the hole-in-one parade

Bob Edelblut

Like many of us, Ron Victor often wondered if he was ever going to have a hole-in-one. But he never lost hope and never stopped trying! His tenacity was finally rewarded on Friday, November 4 on the fourth hole at the MountainView Golf Course. Congratulations, Ron, for your first, and many extra kudos for finding the cup on one of MountainView’s more challenging greens.

Rich Hicks, Don Gray and Bob Barker were Ron’s partners and have attested that it actually happened. If truth be known they probably said, “Wow, it has finally happened” and “You are buying drinks.” We understand that you did so graciously. Good thing! The fourth this Friday was playing about 160 yards from the regular tees. Ron chose his five wood for the shot. At this point the details get a bit skimpy but the bottom line is that the ball found its way to the bottom of the cup. It must have been a perfect shot.

Ron started playing golf on the public courses of New York City when he was about 15. He admits that his introduction to golf was not a comfortable one and after three or so frustrating years he gave the game up. His answer to the question of why it was so frustrating was short and simple—“because I could not find left-handed clubs so I was forced to play right-handed.” Miraculously 18 years later left-handed golf clubs were discovered and Ron began a new career on the correct side of the ball! Good story and once again congratulations!
