Rip-Roaring Robbie Summers Art Sale!

Poppies in a Vase, by Robbie Summers

Karen Brungardt

Robbie Summers was a longtime resident and artist of SaddleBrooke. She and her husband Bill moved to the community on Sept. 11, 2001, from New Hampshire.

Robbie attended the University of Arkansas and wanted to become an artist then. Her daddy said, “No, you need to do something that will pay you,” so she became an elementary school teacher instead.

Once she and Bill arrived in SaddleBrooke for retirement, Robbie was able to pursue her love of watercolor and combining mediums to make the kind of art she enjoyed. She became well known in and out of our community for her lively use of colors and subjects in her artwork. She became involved in the SaddleBrooke Fine Arts Guild, serving as president and also serving on the board of directors for many years as a valuable member of the guild. She participated in every Fine Art Show and Sale, with many patrons eager for her new artwork every year.

Sadly, Robbie passed away on July 19, 2024, but many pieces of her artwork still remain and will be offered for discounted prices in a special show in her honor, along with heavily discounted art supplies for sale.

This special Art Show will be on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Topaz Room in the Arts & Crafts Center in SaddleBrooke TWO, near the MountainView clubhouse. Follow the signs and flags to the location.

So, come see the show, take home your favorite piece or pieces of artwork, and/or find art supplies you need for your own work! Karen Brungardt, Mary Bubla, and Renee Pearson all knew Robbie quite well and will facilitate the show and are always happy to share “Robbie stories” with those who knew her.
