Republican Women of Pinal County continues to give back

Barb Trieck

The Republican Women of Pinal County held their Holiday Brunch at the SaddleBrooke Activity Center. It was a great time of food, friendship and giving. The club contributed $100 to the Wreaths Across America project. A number of the members will also help to place wreaths on the graves of veterans at Evergreen Cemetery. Members also donated over $300 worth of new baby clothes, diapers, wipes and blankets to the Women Veterans Health Center. Sadly, many new moms have very little for their newborns. Last year some of the clothes we donated were put to work on the same day they were brought to the center. We also contributed two very large bags of toiletries for the moms.

Inauguration Day, January 20, 2017, will be celebrated by the Republican Women with a coffee in the Agave Lounge beginning at 9:00 a.m. Our members put in many volunteer hours to insure both local and national victories. This is a time to gather and enjoy the fruits of our labors. The swearing in and Inaugural Address of President Trump will be on television for all to enjoy.

If you would like to join us, please reserve a spot by calling Sharon Powers at 825-2397 so enough coffee and goodies will be available.

We have a busy program schedule for the year ahead. At our Friday, February 17 meeting, County Supervisor Tony Smith, Sheriff Mark Lamb and County Attorney Kent Volkmer will address the challenges and opportunities facing their offices. Both Lamb and Volkmer are newly elected to their positions. The meeting will be held in the Coyote Room of the SaddleBrooke Clubhouse and begins at 10:00 a.m. Again all are welcome.
