Recruitment of Volunteers for Tri-Community Food Bank

Marilee Jensen

Tri-Community Food Bank (TCFB) is an all-volunteer organization, spending zero funds on administration costs. It is located in Mammoth and serves the communities of Oracle, San Manuel, Mammoth, Dudleyville, and Aravaipa. Clients of the food bank receive food boxes twice a month. In 2025, 4,940 households and 15,361 individuals were provided with food assistance. The unduplicated count was 549 households with 1,620 individuals.

A number of the food bank’s volunteers are snowbirds and will be leaving in April and not returning until the fall. The TCFB Board of Directors is looking to recruit volunteers to fill the vacancies.

The food bank operates Monday through Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are scheduled in three-hour shifts, with four volunteers per shift, to pack and hand out food boxes to our clients, stock shelves, prepare individual produce packages, and restock the pantry for the next shift.
