The Pool Players of The Brooke’s (PPB) board orchestrated a Member Appreciation Happy Hour to honor their outstanding members and sponsors in the newly renovated RoadRunner Grill. The PPB hosted 57 members and two PPB sponsors.
PPB’s president Dick “Highlander” Dunbar started the program with a few upbeat words to the attending PPB members. Then Board Vice President Dominic “The Doctor” Borland recognized a couple of our sponsors. Joe Pate’s X-Pert Auto has been sponsoring the PPB since its inception in February 2016. Shelly Smith, representing X-Pert Auto, accepted a Certificate of Recognition from the PPB. Our next exceptional sponsor in attendance was Leah Kari of Leah Kari Solutions, Inc. Leah has been with us since February 2018. Leah graciously accepted her framed certificate and indicated her support would continue and grow. Luis Lopez of Rancheros Market, one of our newest sponsors, was not present, so Dominic will deliver his framed certificate. All three are tournament and Catalina Recreation Center Pool Room sponsors. The PPB thanks our generous sponsors and believes in continuing our long-running relationships.
Next up, the grub! Our two servers, Rich “Hide the Salami” Adinofi and Fred “The Baker” Dianda, dressed in authentic Italian aprons and chef toques, were ready and able to dish out some delicious pork sliders, chicken wings, and caprese skewers to the hungry pool players.
When the grub was devoured, Dick Dunbar was ready to award gift cards to acknowledge the selfless contributions of the following 15 members: Jack “Crash” Hoverter, Rich “Hide the Salami” Adinolfi, Terry Gillis, Scott Whiting, Tony “The Snake” Cardillo, Phelps “Montana” L’Hommedieu, Ron “Dblo7” Ridge, Joe “Fast Eddie” Giammarino, Randy “Thin Man” Smith, Gary “One Rail” Barlow, Fred “The Baker” Dianda, Dominic “The Doctor” Borland, Dick “The Visor” Titus, George “The G Man” Bone, and Terry “The Cue” Sterling. The above members are the core of the PPB membership that keeps the club functional and the Pool Room in tip-top shape so that our club members and all SaddleBrooke residents have a clean and well-equipped Pool Room to be proud of!
