Arizona Pathfinders, a nonprofit volunteer group of the Arizona Historical Society, is conducting a one-day tour on Saturday, April 6, 2019, to the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, AZ. Join us for an interesting musical adventure. Travel is by luxury coach; all fees and gratuities are included.
Embark on a musical journey. Spend the day traveling the world through music in MIM’s five “Geographical Galleries.” Using state–of–the-art audio and video technology, you will hear, see and feel the creative spirit of the people from around the world as they play their instruments within their cultural context. Attend a traditional Beijing opera. Celebrate a contemporary Ukrainian wedding. And let the good times roll with Cajun zydeco. At MIM, you will be entertained, engaged and enthralled.
Celebrate some of music’s most influential artists and get an up-close look at instruments played by icons, including Elvis Presley, Taylor Swift, Eric Clapton, Roy Orbison, Carlos Santana and many other artists in the Artist Gallery. Let your imagination come alive as you explore the Experience Gallery where you can bang a gong, strum a Burmese harp and play unique instruments from around the world.
Lunch will be on your own at the Café Allegro which offers delicious cuisine from around the world between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Lighter fare will be offered during museum hours. The museum store offers a selection of unusual cultural and music-oriented items.
Cost is $120 per person. Sign-ups, registration and payment taken until April 1 or until we fill the coach. Full cancellations accepted until April 1, 2019. Please contact Bob Stuart at 520-825-4239 or Mary/John Flynn at 520-579-7508 for further information.
