The MountainView Ballroom will be full of Soft Surroundings on Friday, February 26 as it is once again the site for the P.E.O. Luncheon and Style Show sponsored by Chapter EP. Mark your calendars for this popular event benefitting the cause of education for women. Fashions will be presented by Soft Surroundings, a new store at the La Encantada shopping center on Skyline and modeled by members of the chapter. The clothing displayed should provide fresh ideas for resort travel and for welcoming spring.
Doors will open at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon served at 11:30 a.m. consisting of a chicken, field greens and strawberry salad, rolls and assorted beverages and cookies. Tickets are $30 per person and will go on sale Thursday, November 12 at the HOA 2 Administrative Offices. Their hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Proceeds will be used by the Philanthropic Educational Organization to help provide scholarships to female high school graduates and international students. P.E.O. also offers loans and grants to women in baccalaureate and postgraduate programs. In addition, the P.E.O. Sisterhood supports Cottey College, a liberal arts college for women in Nevada, Missouri.
